NEJM: An expensive eye injection that’s approved to treat macular degeneration — the most common cause of age-related blindness — works no better than a much cheaper drug at preventing vision loss. That’s the finding of a long-awaited study published online yesterday by the New England Journal of Medicine.

BBC: Those who were currently taking thyroxine, or who had recently stopped were at a significantly higher risk of experiencing fractures. Writing in the BMJ, the researchers led by Dr Lorraine Lipscombe, said it suggested medication levels should be more closely monitored "in this vulnerable population".

Loyola calls them the "Seven Sisters."
