... http://www.nature.com/isn/news/soc_announ/fullview.html?content_id=76417 Would you like to host an ISN Forefronts Symposia? As part of its conference program, ISN regularly hosts “Forefronts in Nephrology Meetings”. This series is designed to advance scientific nephrology and familiarize nephrologists with emerging fields in basic research that have a fundamental impact on understanding, diagnosing and treating kidney disease and its complications. Much of this research comes from outside nephrology or is multidisciplinary in nature. ISN aims to enhance renal research by stimulating inter-disciplinary exchange, making nephrologists aware of latest research developments and discussing how they are applied to basic research in renal function and kidney disease. The faculty of ISN Forefronts Symposia is made up of 25 speakers, with about half of these not working in nephrology. Selected topics are focused in scope to allow in-depth coverage and quality exchange. To ensure intense interaction, each symposium aims to attract no more than 100 to 150 active scientists. While in easy access for international participants, ISN Forefronts meetings are typically held in a secluded location to foster more interaction, create a collegial atmosphere and provide little distractions from the scientific program. More information about recent ISN Forefront Symposia programs can be found here. Topics are vetted and decided upon by the ISN Forefront Committee. Concept proposals should be maximum one page long and include the following information:• Proposed title of the event • Proposed key themes • Draft program (if possible)• Proposed co-chairs of the event (the host plus at least two other experts in the field) • Proposed date of the event • Proposed venue of the event (city and proposed meeting venue if possible) If you are interested in submitting a proposal please do so by e-mail before November 1, 2010 to: jbateman@isn-online.orgProposals received before this date will be evaluated at the Forefronts Core Committee meeting to be held on November 18, 2010. After this meeting, ISN will follow up with all those who submitted a proposal.
