Let's get it started: World Kidney Day 2011
It’s time to start thinking ahead to the next World Kidney Day. On Thursday March 10th, 2011, nephrologists and advocates around the world will be shining the spotlight on the often-overlooked relationship between cardiovascular disease and kidney disease. Our campaign slogan this year is ‘Protect your kidneys, Save your Heart’! And as always, prevention is better than cure, so there will be a strong push on key healthy lifestyle practices which have a big impact on both diseases.Action at local level is key to bring about real change. It is thanks to the sum of local actions and events that World Kidney Day has become what it is, an event celebrated in more than 100 countries around the world. If you have never held a World Kidney Day event, please make 2011 your first annual celebration.Whatever activity you undertake, it will serve to bring Kidney health to the centre stage on this important day.
