We were thrilled this week when Renal Services in the UK made all or their centers in the UK Premium Global Dialysis Member Centers. Global Dialysis upgrades to new server

The IT team at Global Dialysis have upgraded the world leading dialysis information site's server this week and are incredibly grateful to the patience of all of their users. This server upgrade meant that the site was down for a few hours whilst this essential maintenance was carried out.

"The move was necessitated by a massive increase in user numbers this year, especially in our dialysis center search and jobs section" said Russell England IT Director. "In moving to a larger server we have the space to expand the site into many new areas this year and bring more services to dialysis users and the industry".

Global Dialysis now has around 700 unique visits from around the world every day, and this is increasing all the time.

Accreditation of learning hours

EDTNA/ERCA will recognise and certify the number of session hours attended by delegates. The Association is committed to continuing professional development (CPD) and this process enables those participants who need to demonstrate that they are keeping up-to-date with current practice to gain recognition for their Conference attendance. Details of the sessions which are eligible for CME accreditation points will be advertised on the Conference website.

One credit will be assigned for every 60 minutes spent within the session hall. You are however allowed to change between the sessions and the time is accumulated.

A certificate of attendance will be provided together with a CME certificate on the last day of the Conference.

Fresenius Turkey become Premium Global Dialysis Members

We're delighted to welcome Fresenius Medical Care Turkey as Global Dialysis Premium Members this week. Fresenius Medical Care, a global leader in dialysis care have 54 dialysis centres across Turkey delivering dialysis care to the local population and people visiting for business and pleasure.

Upgrade to Global Dialysis Centre Find and Book Service

The Dialysis Centre Find and Book team at Global Dialysis are delighted to announce an upgrade to the service and are delivering the Find service completely free, delivering increasing value to the Global Dialysis users.

Dialysis users and centers wanting to find dialysis destinations can now email find@globaldialysis.com with details of their destination and the team will perform the search and send a link to centers likely to be appropriate. The users simply need to login to see the information.

IT Director, Russell England said "We've been overhauling our data and drastically improving the quality of information on the site. We are now being supported by many dialysis member center and dialysis companies and as a result we can increase our level of support to dialysis users, other centers and their carers on the site".

"We are still providing a high level of support for the many dialysis users who just want to relax and let us manage their bookings. This takes the stress away for dialysis users. We're pleased to announce our new membership scheme for dialysis centers for 2012. To make things simple membership will run from January 1 2012 until December 31 2012.

Thrilled with the response to Global Dialysis membership, several members have already contacted us to renew this year.

Sunshine Dialysis Centers, Jamaica are the latest Global Dialysis Members

Global Dialysis is delighted to welcome the Sunshine Group of dialysis centers as their latest members.· With dialysis centers in key locations across Jamaica in Montego Bay, Kingston and Mandeville, the group provides an excellent resource for dialysis travellers to the island.

The Kingston Sunshine Dialysis Centre was set up by Dr L. Johnson-Whittaker 15 years ago to meet the needs of patients in need of dialysis, the majority of whom were not able to access the limited public dialysis programmes, as patients who were diabetic or older than 40 years were not considered candidates for public dialysis.

The center in Montego Bay branch was opened in May 1997 and has provided dialysis treatment to many persons in the western side of Jamaica as well as to hundreds of tourists and the returning Jamaican Diaspora. An the Mandevillie unit, the first dialysis unit in Manchester, was established in 2003 in the convenient Cobblestone Medical Complex. This center was designed to meet the needs of persons in the entire South Central region of Jamaica, whose residents find accessing dialysis treatment in Kingston inconvenient.
